Meet our Funeral Director
Emma Jones (nee Perry), Owner and Funeral Director at Perry Jones Funeral Services.
It has always been a dream of mine to manage and run my own independent funeral home, to serve the local community and to comfort and support to those in need.
I grew up close to my funeral home, attended the local primary school, and my family still live in the area. With their help I am immensely proud to have established the business in an area that has played, and continues to play, such a huge part in our lives. To give back to our community in this way is something we are hugely invested in, and proud to say we do.
Should you choose us to help you through this difficult time, I want you to assure you that I am very hands-on in my role and will be at your side every step of the way. From bringing your loved one into our care, to overseeing preparations for viewing and being with you on the day of the funeral, I believe consistency is key in funeral planning.
A bit more about me…
After spending four years at Art College in Cumbria gaining two art degrees, I went on to study at The University of Bath and obtained an MSc in Death and Society. During this time I became more interested in the role of the Funeral Director and found employment with a large national company as a Funeral Arranger. After just 12 months I achieved my ambition of becoming a Funeral Director, I then went on to complete a Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ in Funeral Services and Operations.
In the years since being a Funeral Director, I have gained a wealth of experience within the funeral industry and arranged and conducted numerous funerals across Oldham, Tameside (Ashton under Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Dukinfield, Droylsden, Hyde, Mossley, Stalybridge) and Manchester. I have conducted funerals for families in many faiths, including Christian, Hindu, Buddhist and for the traveller community. I also have experience of African and West Indian funerals.
I understand that not everyone has religious beliefs and am more than happy to cater for humanist, non-religious or family led services too.
Outside work I am married to Kev and live in Hyde with our two young sons and two dogs, Virgil and Sausage.
My interests include spending time with my family, DIY, gardening (I have an allotment where I grow lots of fresh produce) and I enjoy music, films and art, along with drinking lots of Yorkshire Tea.
