“Owning and managing my own independent funeral home has always been a dream of mine—one rooted in a deep desire to serve my community and provide comfort and support to those in need.
Having grown up near the funeral home, attended local schools, and with my family still living in the area, I feel immense pride in being able to establish the business in a place that has shaped who I am. Giving back to the community in this way is something I am genuinely passionate about, and I am proud of the work we do.
If you choose us to guide you through this difficult time, I want you to know that I am fully involved at every stage. From the moment we bring your loved one into our care, to overseeing the arrangements for the service and being there on the day of the funeral, I believe in consistency and personal attention throughout the planning process.
After four years at Art College in Cumbria where I earned two art degrees, I pursued an MSc in Death and Society at The University of Bath. This academic journey sparked my interest in the role of a Funeral Director, leading me to work for a large national company as a Funeral Arranger. Within a year, I achieved my goal of becoming a Funeral Director, and later completed Level 2 and Level 3 NVQs in Funeral Services and Operations. I am currently studying a Level 4 Diploma in Funeral Directing and also training to be a bereavement councillor.
Throughout my career, I’ve gained extensive experience arranging and conducting funerals across Oldham, Tameside, and Manchester, helping families of various faiths, including Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, and those from the traveller, African, and West Indian communities. I’m also committed to supporting humanist, non-religious, or family-led services for those who prefer it.
Outside of work, I’m married to Kev, and together we live in Hyde with our two young sons and two dogs, Virgil and Sausage. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, DIY projects, hiking, gardening (I have an allotment where I grow fresh produce), and indulging in my love for music, films, and art. I also can’t resist a good cup of Yorkshire Tea!”
